The right partner (Steve x Reader) - Part 1
‘So,’ colonel James Rhodes finished, for at least the tenth time this evening, ‘I drop the box in front of his house and say: ‘Are you looking for this?’”
The crowd around him erupted in a melodic laughter and you smiled, slowly shaking your head. You had heard the story so many times that often you even dreamed about it. You thought it was rather funny. Not the story, but the content look on his face every time someone who hadn’t heard it before laughed.
You looked around the room, trying to spot any of the other Avengers. It had been hard to recover after everything that had happened with Ultron. Especially now that the government didn’t seem pleased with you after you had again left nothing but ash and dust trying to safe the world. That you had actually succeeded in saving everyone, was something easily forgotten. The party they were giving in your honor now, was more something mandatory than an actual celebration. You didn’t re

One years later, after the events in age of Ultron
A soft, cold breeze blew through the streets of New York. You took in a deep breath and smiled, looking around you. It had been over a year since you had set foot in the city, but you were finally back.
While you were in your hometown you had worked your ass off. You were able to save up a lot of money and you broadened your knowledge and skills by taking courses and classes. You had done so greatly in your new job that just a few weeks ago they had offered you a promotion as a manager in their new office, which of course had to be in New York.
You had accepted the offer right away and moved back to the Big Apple nearly a week ago. You had gotten a large apartment in the center of New York with a stunning few of the whole city. Today all your belongings had arrived and you had spent the whole Saturday morning unpacking everything. Now you were making your way towards one of the cafeterias you used to go to, to

2015, somewhere in New York - After you died
Complete and utter silence
You were walking through a long and dark hallway. Your fingers caressed the wall, while you slowly moved forward. You had no idea where you were, or where you were going. You had no memory of how you had gotten here and no desire to get out. You had never felt so serene before and if you could, you would spend eternity here, just walking towards an invisible and unreachable door.
But you knew nothing lasted forever and soon your thoughts were flooded by memories you thought you no longer had. A blinding pain spread through your body and an agonizing scream welled from your throat.
I'm not leaving this rock with even one civilian on it. Steve's voice echoed in your head. I care about you and I don't want to see you get hurt. Promise me you won't get yourself killed...'
You tried to shake the memories off, but every time you tried to forget, the images only be
Timing is everything (Steve x Reader) - 2/3
A week had never gone by so quickly. You had met up with Steve almost every single one of those days and even though you tried to keep it all just as friends (like you had agreed at the beginning), you were starting to get a warm feeling in your stomach every time Steve was near you.
Today was your final day in New York and Steve had insisted he would help you pack you last things. You were leaving all of your furniture here, however, so you knew he didn't actually come here to help you. He came to say goodbye. That hurt more than you thought it would a week ago (when you still thought you wouldn't fall for him). Then you had had nothing holding you in New York. Now, you weren't so sure anymore.
'Knock, knock,' Steve whispered, knocking on your apartment door, which you had already opened for him while you were putting the last small things in your bag.
You smiled, seeing him enter your apartment. 'Hi, Steve, come in,' you said, waving him in and walking towards him as he closed the do

Somewhere in the arctic, 2015 - Inside a hidden HYDRA base
It had been several months since you had disappeared and even though Steve had gone on with his life, he still couldn't get you out of his head. He felt so stupid for letting you go into that control room alone. You had been part of the team for so long that he had forgotten you weren't a real agent. You had always pretended you were, but above all you were a computer and robotics specialist from MIT. You were recruited to S.H.I.E.L.D after you had tried (and succeeded) to hack into the security system (set up by Tony himself) and rolled into the Avengers team after risking your life together with Steve during the fall of S.H.I.E.LD. Steve knew he shouldn't have left you alone.
Fury didn't give him much time to dwell on his mistakes for long. New missions always followed soon after others were finished and if Steve wasn't trying to keep you from his mind, he would have said something about it.
Today was like any other.
Rise of the Fallen - Part 13 (BuckyxReaderxSteve)
You were sitting on the couch in Tony Stark’s living room, feeling their eyes staring at you constantly.
‘So,’ Tony started. ‘You’re not working for HYDRA?’
You shook your head, looking at the three men before you: Iron man, Captain America en director Fury (although Fury had lost his title a few months ago with the fall of S.H.I.E.LD.). Bucky was sitting next to you for support.
‘Tell me again how exactly you survived the explosion of the military base?’ Steve asked, looking at you suspiciously.
You wanted to tell the story again, but Bucky stopped you.
He sighed loudly and crossed his arms. ‘This is taking us nowhere. [Name] has told you everything she knows. We need to help, not interrogate her.’
‘We just need to make sure she is not a threat, Barnes,’ Fury replied. ‘We still don’t know what HYDRA did to her exactly.’
‘Those HYDRA agents were after her. Isn’t that enough proof?

You had been living in New York for several years. You had been there when the aliens attacked the city and had even remained when your whole apartment turned out to be destroyed. You had always enjoyed living there, but when your best friend had died in a car crash nearly a year ago and you had survived, everything had gone down hill.
Most of your other friends had moved away to villages to start a family in peace and for the past few months you had spend Saterday nights alone in your bedroom. It was not the life you had imagined you'd have at 23. When - above all - the company you worked for went bankrupt two months ago, you knew you had to leave New York and go back to your hometown.
Your parents had offered to take you back in for the time being and even though you didn't like to leave the city you had loved so much, you had accepted you were going to have to start all over somewhere else.
That was, until you met Steve...
It had been raining all afternoon that day. You didn't feel
Till it hurts (Steve x Reader) - Part 1
Gunfire echoed through the hallways of the HYDRA base and Steve took in a deep breath, looking at the woman that was hiding behind him: you. He clenched his fist around his shield, nodding at you. You had been over the plan numerous of times back at the Avengers Tower and while the rest of the team distracted the HYDRA agents, Steve was supposed to take you up to the control room of the base to hack into it and download any information that might help the Avengers locate the remaining HYDRA agents (and Bucky). The base was heavily secured, however, and Steve knew he had de deviate from plan.
He didn't like to leave you alone, even though he didn't have a choice. You were the computer nerd not him, but he had started to care greatly for you over the past months and he didn't dare to think about what he would do if something happened to you.
After you had all returned form Sokovia a few weeks ago, he had even realized he was in love with you. There hadn't been a right time yet to t

2014, New York - Night of the date
You were sitting in your room in the Avengers tower putting on your make-up. You were extremely nervous for your date with Danny, even though Steve had told you numerous of times you'd do fine. You wanted to believe him, but something told you tonight would end up a lot differently than you had been imagining for the past few days.
You just put on some lipstick when there was a knock on the door. You put everything back in your little make-up bag and called whoever was at the door inside.
'You look nice,' Natasha smiled as she walked into your room. Besides Steve she was one of your friends among the Avengers. She knew about your feelings for Steve and even understood why you still had to go on that date with Danny. Whether she agreed, was a different question.
'Thanks,' you nodded, straightening your dress. 'I usually don't wear dresses, but I thought he might like it.'
'I'm sure he will,' Natasha agreed. 'Are you ready? It's almost seven o'c
